And Christ the Savior was crucified at Golgotha or commonly referred to as "the place of skulls" for mankind's salvation. The first of Moreschi's AEF and Great War painting project to memorialize the gallantry, courage, and sacrifice the troops of WWI committed themselves to and for the world's salvation from this epic and brutal event in human history. Created in 2018 to celebrate the 100 year anniversary (centennial, 1918 - 2018) of the AEF's time in combat in the Great War.
