"THE HUCKLEBERRY!"

(Painting #1)

GREETINGS RASCALS!

What we have here is the first piece of art for our new Collection, DEFIANCE 1876 - The Art of the Gunfighter... and general outlaw, cowboy, hold up man, road agent, vigilante, lawman and all around rascal of that there Old West!

This painting, "Painting #1" of the Collection, is aptly titled "The Huckleberry!"  The original oil painting is 24" x 36" on canvas mounted to panel, and it just so happened to sell to a "western art aficionado" before we even received the piece back from the photographer!

So the original sold, but we have prints, tees, and merchandise with the huckleberry all ready and poised to draw!

CANVAS PRINTS-

We will be offering the canvas prints as a signed and numbered (by the artist) limited edition set- only 76 of these will ever be made and distributed and each print will come with a "Certificate of Authenticity" (COA), also signed and numbered by the artist, head rascal - Tony Moreschi.  This canvas print is available rolled (shipping choice) or gallery wrapped (show choice- pick up only).  The canvas print is a "giclee" which is "fancy French art speak" for the best reproduction method of artwork printing today - ink jet on fancy "art canvas."  This is the best color match method to the original.  Your canvas print will be varnished like the original, providing protection and a slight gloss to the surface.

PAPER PRINTS-

We understand not all folks want a fancy ole canvas and just want some cool art to hang or even one with a fancy saying on it to inspire, or put a happy feeling inside them whenever they read and look at the huckleberry...

We have giclee paper prints also, printed on heavy and high quality photo paper that you can have framed or dry mounted.  The paper prints are an "open edition" print, that is, as long as there is someone with permission to sell the art here at the studios, The Huckleberry will remain in print... as a paper print that is.  The paper print also has a second option, the "THORP VARIANT" (see second photo with quote bottom left of print).

Featured on the "THORP VARIANT" is a saying from Nathan Howard "JACK" Thorp.

"Those were frontier towns, ol' pardner;
'T was a game o' take an' give,
An' the one who could draw the fastest
Was the only one who'd live!"

Nathan Howard "Jack" Thorp (June 10, 1867 – June 4, 1940) was an American collector and writer of cowboy songs and cowboy poetry.. Starting in 1889, he collected cowboy material while living in New Mexico. His small book, "Songs of the Cowboys" was published there in 1908. It was the first such book ever published, containing the words to only 23 songs, including the now-classic "The Streets of Laredo."   Today, Thorp is credited with being the first person to take a serious interest in collecting and preserving the homespun ballads of the American West.

We hope you enjoy "The Huckleberry!" - he would be a great addition to any saloon, pool hall, gun room, family room, man cave, or young man's den... Keep that powder dry!

All paper giclee prints come with a white border.  The size noted in the drop down menu is the "image size."  All paper prints will be signed personally by the artist.

We ship any canvas as a rolled print in a tube.  Folks then bring their canvas to a frame shop, Michaels, or Hobby Lobby to stretch and mount.  Note, the canvas edges will have a mirrored image of the painting to ensure you can have a "gallery wrap" mount, that is, the image will wrap around the wooden mounting sticks to allow you to hang the canvas without a frame if you choose to... or frame to your liking.

NOTE ON STOCK - Our prints are made "to order."  This means we have them printed as they are ordered.  Tony then signs (all print styles- canvas or paper) and/ or numbers (if it is a limited edition) each print.  We also fill online orders with our show stock if we have sufficient stock in hand to allow for quicker shipping times.  Please allow 1-2 weeks for printing.  Canvas prints take about 2 weeks because they have to be varnished.  All our prints are made in Central Florida.
